STEAM POWER PLANT SALZBURG

The philosophy behind the project steam power plant Salzburg

To convert the formal architecture of this functional building into a world of experience for Salzburg visitors and onlookers.

To create an optical experience through a new covering.

To give the object a new body.

Trough the inspiration of a walk trough Salzburg city the concept formed in my mind. I took pictures from all possible angles to find out about the hidden personality of the building.

I dealt with this building nearly every day.

This led to a symbiosis between me and the before unapproachable substance of the building.

The idea was to convert the formal building into a lively sculpture.

Wind floating through the new facade, should emit spheric sound.

This sound connects to Salzburg history of music and artists like Mozart.

A new interpretation of of old valences and a change of pace. We live in times where not only the big eat the small. The slower ones are eaten by the fast ones. My vision is to give this Steam power plant a contemporary and lively body to show the power of this collossus and to transform the building into a reflection of the 21st century.
